Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

This card is one I made for my hubby's mother because she has always loved planting and harvesting her flowers.  She never had a pair of Wellies like these, but she would have loved some I'm sure.  Her flower gardening days are behind her now, so I thought she might appreciate a little touch of nostalgia in this card.   Both she and my own mother certainly embody these characteristics.

Here's a pic of my mother and me while we were on our trip to Ireland.  Oh, what a beautiful memory we made.  A dream of a lifetime for both of us and we were able to share it together.  My mother turns 87 this summer.  She will be making some big changes in her life.  She's going to give up housekeeping on her own, and move in on a rotating basis with my two siblings and me.  I've been blessed to live near her for a number of years, so while she is gone, I'll really miss her.  What a blessing she is to me, and I'll just treasure every minute we have together.  She is such a sweetheart and I love her so much.

This card sample, shown only briefly when we did our Spring Has Sprung blog hop last month, uses mixed sets from my store, pictured below.  I used the outline image of the boots and paper pieced them with papers shown below. When created papers and color digi stamps I try to match to Stampin' Up! colors.  Of course all printers vary, but mine is pretty much spot on.  The yellow matches Definitely Daffodil, and the blue/green matches Bermuda Bay.  Since all my cardstock is Stampin' Up (the best), it makes all my sets coordinate with the papers and tangible accessories/embellishments I already have.
