Word Art Wednesday: Justified by Faith

What a wonderful and blessed Christmas day I enjoyed with my family!  Both sons and their beautiful wives were here, my mother was with us...it was perfect in every way.  As we gathered for the delicious Asian style dinner completely prepared by my newest daughter-in-love, our younger son prayed.  I silently thanked God that everyone at the table understood and focused on the deeper meaning of Christmas.  My son thanked God for our greatest gift this season...the gift of Jesus as Savior.  We had a very humble Christmas this year...but the simplicity of it helped each of us I think to focus on the rich blessings we have through Christ.  As I said....perfect Christmas!

This week's Word Art Wednesday scripture challenge comes from Romans...Paul's "doctrinal dissertation!"  The Word of God spoken to Paul as he penned this book must have overwhelmed Paul. I would have loved to see the process....watching him as he sat down to write, praying fervently for the inspiration....watching to see as God's Spirit of wisdom coursed through his mind.  Surely his face was aglow with the fire of God's truth as the lamplight spilled across his face.

I absolutely LOVE this verse.  Once we have been justified through our salvation in Christ, we do have peace with God.  No longer are we enemies, separated and alone.  We are reconciled to Him and can come freely into His presence with the same trusting confidence that a young child has when crawling into her earthly father's strong, protective arms. We are saved...and we are save.

I'm certainly ready for a little peace in my life.  This past year has been hectic....not bad, but very ful of challenges and trials.  Yet in the midst of a few hard things, we have experienced an incredible peace in our family.  Each branch of our family tree has been shaken by the winds of change and challenge.  But our roots go deep in the soil of God's sovereign love over us.  He shelters us while the winds blow.  We will not be moved.  This verse is why we can say that. And I'm praying this verse over everyone who reads this post for the New Year.  May this kind of peace be yours.  There is only one source...that is Jesus.

I wish you could see my sample in real life. I resized and printed one sheet from the Deck the Halls Digi paper set on shimmery white cardstock (purchased HERE). If you look closely you can see the shimmer.  It was perfect for the imagery of this digi paper.  I just layered our first on top of the sheet once I had it size and instantly as card is nearly finished.  I layering the sheet onto a piece of red shimmer paper also purchased from www.cutcardstock.com.  They have fabulous prices on their shimmer papers.  The white is identical to Stampin' Up! and is less than half the cost.  I have to be more mindful of bargains these days.  Don't we all?  A little Dazzling Diamonds glitter and some gold Stickles glitter glue added just the right touch of bling.

May 2014 bring you the blessing of God's peace through Jesus because you are justified, and can stand before Him completely forgiven.
