Sorry I've been out of pocket for so long! What a month of unexpected twists and turns in life. One of the unfortunate ones was that I severely twisted my ankle and it didn't get diagnosed properly for nearly 11 days...and every one of those was spent in a fog of pain. I severed one ligament, others may be torn, have bone chips floating around and some type of fracture on the main ankle/heel bone. Not sure of technical terms. But lots of amazing things are happening too. I can't believe how blessed I am with prayer buddies near and far. I've feel showered by God's protection and provision. I'll be back in a day or two with exciting news. But first...let me focus on our Word Art Wednesday challenge!
Our graphics artist has created a beautiful rendition of Isiah 9:6. Karen Murray, Papercraft Memories, always does a fabulous job. I'll be showcasing some of her full sets tomorrow. They are gorgeous.
Our sponsors are great this week. You will definitely want to hop over to our challenge blog and join in the fun and a chance to win some amazing prizes.
My Sample:
Since I had to scoot on my bottom to get downstairs to my craft room and roll around in my office chair, I made quick work of my sample...barely in the nick of time. I sent it to Karen just last night...right before this challenge went live. How is that for a picture of grace on Karen's part? Our challenge administrator, Karen Letchworth, My Cup Runneth Over, is very gracious.
The cardinal image is from one of our sponsors, Whimsy stamps, and I think it's fabulous. I colored it (a little too quickly, I confess) with Copic markers. I recolored Karen's sentiment to match the papers I used (Deck the Halls Digi Papers from Daydream Designs). I printed the paper, the verse and the cardinal on Shimmer White paper and the shimmers show through beautifully. I don't think I captured it well in the photos.
What a glorious time of year this is. I love Christmas...and try to keep all the focus on Christ. We are certainly tempted by our culture to cast out Christ altogether, and I fear we will soon even be persecuted for honoring the birth of our Lord. But Christmas is a matter of the spirit...even more than just the heart. And no man will ever be able to take that from us. Christ is our Everlasting Immanuel...He is ours and we are His forever. What a simply amazing truth and reassurance in our troubled world.
Do head over to our WAW challenge blog, read Karen's beautiful, heart-felt devotion, and be inspired by our other design team members.
Hope you can check in often for our latest updates to Daydream Designs, but I know this is a busy time of year. You can catch up later when life slows to its usual winter pace.
