Karen Murray's beautiful scripture depiction is the declaration that all of God's glory was made manifest in His Son, Jesus Christ. And in Him Christians have the certain hope of experiencing God's full glory when we pass from this life into eternity. There's no way we can grasp or glimpse that glory this side of heaven, yet God does not hide Himself either.
Over the last few days, I've been waking up earlier than my usual slow-going, retirement-loving mornings. I live in a urban neighborhood so a full sunrise is not in view when I look out from my patio to have my morning coffee. But I see the sun's sparkling rays of morning streaming through the trees to warm my face. I love the sanctuary of my back yard. It's the perfect place to greet and worship our glorious God.
A few mornings ago birds were striking up a chorus of praise and my soul joined in the song. It was a particularly brilliant beginning to the day. That experience fuels my awareness of God's presence in my life. I love starting the day with Him, with His Word. If I fall out of that practice, I find my days are far more stressful. There is just something about a morning with God that drives His glory into my heart.
For my sample, I copied and pasted the scripture onto a cropped image from the Beach Papers digi pack in the store (Daydream Designs). It was perfect to depict a sunrise (or sunset). I found the bird print paper in my non-shrinking supply of real papers. The happy birds reminded me of the day I enjoy a bird concert in my back yard.
The card needed nothing more than a few simple embellishments--nothing to detract from the verse itself. What a power-packed verse. When I think of how much joy and strength and early morning sunrise gives me, how much more should the realization that God's glory is in me...that I can allow others to see Christ in me. I know I'm not worthy to share that glory, but my heart's desire is that others will be encouraged and strengthened by my declarations of God's goodness and mercy and His unfailing love toward those who are called by His name.

ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely, Diane. I love the star burst and the sweet little buttons. the background paper makes the yellow pop even brighter. Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThis month I have also been trying to slow down and give God the time he deserves. I do fail. I also find those days to be the ones that are the hardest, as you stated above. He means so much to me, I want to honor, praise, and love Him every moment with all that I am and all that I have. . I am so thankful to be a part of WAW for August.
Have a blessed day,
Heather
