Welcome again to Word Art Wednesday and our fun "anything uplifting goes" challenge. Our challenges are so flexible that anyone can participate every week. We just ask for wholesome and encouraging creations. We'd LOVE to have you pop over to our challenge blog, be inspired by our Design Team members and see what wonderful goodies our sponsors have waiting for winners.
Our wordart-scripture for the week, by Karen Murray, is such an encouragement in itself. To realize that God is always at work in us is an amazing truth, and one that I deeply believe.
One of the promises God gives us regarding the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a believer is that His presence is continually within us. And the presence of the Spirit never lies dormant. The power of God is working within us to bring about what pleases God.
Were it not for God's Spirit at work within us, we would be hopeless failures as believers. But everything in us that is a reflection of Christ comes because God is at work in us, transforming us to be more and more like Christ. It is His strength and His power that causes us to have faith, to desire to follow after Him. He remade our hearts at the moment of salvation to long after Him, to trust Him and to want to be more like Him. Everything good in us comes because of Christ in us.
I think of how much I have grown in my faith over the years, and with every step of faith I've taken, God has been working in me to prove Himself again and again to be faithful, to be present. I've never been alone, never had to work it out on my own. I'm so grateful for the Spirit of God who indwells my heart drawing me ever closer to the One I love. This is a beautiful promise of God to the heart of every believer. Once we accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we are forever sealed with the Holy Spirit who continues to work in us, sanctifying us. When temptation confronts, God's Spirit shows us a way out of the temptation. When we are grieved, He works in our hearts to bring a peace that passes understanding. When we stray, we can rest assured the Spirit will confront us with our sin and bring us to a point in choosing repentance. All wisdom and discernment, all spiritual gifts, all fruit of the spirit flourishes because God is at work within us. Our transformation is a testimony to that work. No part of our salvation or sanctification comes from us or our good works. Both come to us through the working of God in us. Amazing!
My sample for this week was inspired by this card created last month by Edwina at Edwina's Creations. I immediately fell in love with her design, and knew I wanted to use the outline image of my Tea for Two set as well. I love her calico and gingham papers and I think she did an outstanding job of coloring with Copics. Her shading is phenomenal. She has so many other lovely creations on her blog I'm sure you will be blessed by a visit there. Thanks, Edwina, for sharing your beautiful card!
I actually printed the cup (outline version) then colored with Copics also and cut it out to layer on digi paper from Mother's Garden Paper Pack. This card was so simple, so fun and relaxing to make since I really do love to color in images. I'm not the greatest at it, but I do enjoy it.
Here are the sets used:
12 images / JPEG and PNG / 300 ppi / resizable
$4.00
12 sheets / 12 x 12 / 300 ppi / resizable
$3.00

ReplyDeleteDiane, Your card is so pretty. I love coral colors and it looks great on a tea cup card. The set of papers are wonderful! I was admiring them. Thanks for sharing my card and your kind words. Edwina Brown
